Oinousses

A fascinating cluster of 9 islets adorns the eastern side of Chios and serves as an alternative destination for tourists in the summer months.
In the port of Oinoussa you can see the majestic statue of Oinoussiotissa, a bronze mermaid with a crown and a sailboat in her left hand. A symbolic reference to the maritime tradition of the island, as the locals had turned their attention to shipping since the early years.
Birthplace of many shipowners.
An island with cultural wealth. You will find there: Maritime Museum, Culture Center, the historic church of Agios Nikolaos and the Monastery of Evaggelismos tis Theotokou (the Annunciation).
